Immunisation Certification Course

The Immunisation Certification Course has been developed to meet the training needs of nurses by standardising the education component of immunisation.

The 5 week self paced, distance education program is designed as a flexible learning program. The course content is aligned to the National Health and Medical Research Council guidelines and standards of practice.

The course is designed to support rural and remote, general and community nurses in their expanded and demanding practice role. The cost of the course is $50.

Please note that the course is managed and delivered by the Communicable Disease Control Directorate and supported by General Practice Networks across Western Australia.

Registered Nurses and Enrolled Nurses who are practicing in a clinical area can do the course. It is a great way of updating and reviewing your immunisation knowledge and skills, and is suitable for Nurses who are experienced in General Practice or new to General Practice. The Immunisation Certification Course ensures ‘best practice’ service delivery as Nurses are updated on current guidelines on all aspects of immunisation, including legislation and accreditation.

The Division Immunisation Program Officer (DIPO) at GP down south is available for mentoring and support throughout the 5 week course.
