Yesterday marked the first of four workshops to scope out the plan and path ahead to developing a Health Hub in Bunbury incorporating a collaborative framework for co-locators to engage in a Model of Care based on the Peel health Hub.
Over 40 participants represented local government, government agencies and service providers within the not-for-profit sector. This first half-day workshop centred around asking ‘what was important’ to service providers and to develop a framework for open and honest discussions moving forward.
Modelled on the successful Peel Health Hub, the Bunbury Health Hub will be a one stop shop to improve the physical, mental and social health of young people and their families in the south west region. It will provide a coordinated response to the health issues impacting our youth including mental health, suicide, drugs and alcohol.
Lotterywest funding has enabled GP down south to work with the local community develop the framework for the Bunbury Health Hub from the ground up with input from strategic partners, potential co-locators and the community.
We look forward to bringing you more updates as we progress.
GP down south is an exemplary not-for-profit community organisation. We have been providing health and wellbeing services in the Peel regions and the South West of WA since 1994.
