The team at Nidjalla Waangan Mia have commenced delivery of Telehealth consults with Dr Walker this week. This is a milestone event as Telehealth is being used for the first time at Nidjalla.
The staff have said the service is operating smoothly with the team providing the face to face component of support alongside Dr Walkers Telehealth consultation. This will enable us to see patients when they need to be seen and you will get the awesome back up of the staff on the ground as well.
Along with this news, we need to let you all know that as of 3 weeks ago Tara and Maddy at the Peel Youth Medical Service set up Telehealth capacity in PYMS to allow Dr Backhouse to provide Telehealth consults. What was amazing was that Dr Backhouse was in the UK at this time and using telehealth consults enabled clients to be cared for in a timely manner instead of having to wait for his return. Being able to provide support for clients from the other side of the planet is simply astounding. We have well and truly hit the 21st Century.
The last couple of years have demanded that we all become more flexible in how we live and work and this demonstrates that we can all easily adjust when it necessitates. Excellent care is always our top priority and along with it, timely care. Telehealth ticks all those boxes.
It is fantastic to be able to use this technology to ensure that our clients can continue to access our support where it otherwise would not have been possible face to face. Such great work from everyone involved in establishing the capacity and making it a success. Congratulations to you all!
