Gumnut Babies For Kids

10/12/2018

Our Parenting Support team were invited to participate in the Centenary celebrations of Snugglepot and Cuddlepie in Harvey recently.

May Gibbs, the author of Snugglepot and Cuddlepie grew up in Western Australia and spent her formative years at Stirling Cottage in Harvey where here art was inspired by the bush around her - and also inspired the bush babies.

The Parenting Support team’s reputation for a good activity had spread through the region, after their incredibly popular ‘make a gumnut baby’ activity at Children’s Week in Bunbury and they were invited to Harvey to provide the same activity for May Gibbs week.

At a free community event, children aged 0-6 years and their families celebrated the centenary of the first story published about the two adventurous gumnut characters Snugglepot and Cuddlepie.
