Mental Health Commissioner Visits the Peel Health Hub

5/8/2020

Last week, the Mental Health Commissioner, Jennifer McGrath, took time to visit and tour the Peel Health Hub.  Commissioner McGrath has held the role since June 2019 and was keen to see the  Hub and discuss the unique model of care which we have implemented.

Amanda Poller, Eleanor Britton and Bonnie Allen met with her to show the Commissioner around and introduced her to co-locators.  She was interested in our integrated model of care and congratulated GP down south on achieving both a remarkable facility as well as a much-needed local service.

The tour was followed by a very productive conversation on the other work GP down south does in the mental health and alcohol and other drugs field.  The Commissioner highlighted the growing need for these services and commended the contribution GP down south has made in the Peel and South West regions.
