Mental Health Week

15/10/2017

GP down south staff were involved in a couple of events for Mental Health Week.  In Peel, the staff set up on the Mandurah Foreshore for Peel Wellness Wednesday and in the south west, the Busselton team took a Walk for Wellness down the iconic Busselton Jetty.

To celebrate 50 years of promoting mental health awareness by Mental Health Week, GP down south led the charge by providing members of the public to walk the Jetty on Tuesday 10 October – World Mental Health Day.  Bad weather was no barrier and a small but dedicated group braved the weather. This year’s theme was “Connect with nature, community and self for mental wellbeing” – there is no better way to connect with nature than being on Geographe Bay.  It is well known that regular exercise and being outdoors is important for mental health.
