Mental Health Week 2020 is just around the corner. 2020 has been an unusual and sometimes challenging year. It has magnified how important social connection is for our mental health. The time spent in isolation and the cancellation of public events left many feeling very lonely.
This year Mental Health Week in WA is from 10 – 17 October. The theme this year is ‘Strengthening our Community – Live, Learn, Work, Play. We have embraced that theme in more ways than one. We are definitely #strongertogether.
Mental Health and wellbeing is important to us at GP down south. We are invested in the mental health and wellbeing in our communities. In the spirit of being stronger together, we are working with the Mental Health WA team to bring you a great Mental Heath Week.
Tackling mental health in our communities is what we do. GP down south is an official online competition partner for Mental Health Week WA. Among the fun of entering the competition, it will raise awareness of mental health issues and its prevalence in our community. To find out more, keep an eye on our GP down south and Peel Youth Medical Service Facebook pages on Saturday 10 October – World Mental Health Day and follow the links.
GP down south is an exemplary not-for-profit community organisation. We have been providing health and wellbeing services in the Peel regions and the South West of WA since 1994.
