Peel Homelessness Week

11/8/2020

As part of the Peel Homelessness Week, the Assertive Outreach Team attended the annual Homeless Day event at the Mandurah Foreshore and the inaugural "Everyone Needs a Home" event at the Mandurah Baptist Church to support those experiencing homelessness in the area.

GP down south along with many other local community and homelessness organisations gathered to assist Mandurah's most vulnerable by providing information, sausage sizzles, pop up op shops, haircuts, food hampers and material resources. Although COVID-19 resulted in changes to the event this year, providers adapted well by respecting social distancing whilst engaging with the public. Both events provided a safe space for people experiencing homelessness to speak about their current circumstances and opportunity for them to link in with support.
