Since 2012 in partnership with Peel Health Foundation and State Health, and then through funding from the Shire of Waroona, the Peel Mobile Health Service (PMHS) has been providing health and wellbeing services in the regions of Waroona, Pinjarra and Mandurah. In partnership with local services, the PMHS has supported in the delivery of mental health services, diabetes and dietetic services, alcohol and other drugs services as well as family support.
Unfortunately, funding for the PMHS in its current format ceased on the 30 June 2018 and GP down south has not been successful in accessing alternative funding. To help support the continuation of current outreach services and to ensure the PMHS becomes an integral outreach component of the Peel Health Hub, GP down south has developed a model which will allow local stakeholders to operate the PMHS after appropriate training to ensure continued delivery of outreach services to the wider Peel region. If you would like to discuss the use of the PMHS to provide outreach services, please contact Anne Walsh on [email protected] Comments are closed.
