Services update during COVID-19 Lockdown

1/2/2021

GP down south has responded quickly to enact our COVID response plans following the sudden lockdown effective from 6pm last night.

The Emergency Planning Committee met yesterday and again this morning, we continue to use the following aims to guide us in our decision making as the situation evolves:
  1. To look after the health and wellbeing of our staff and their families and reduce as far as possible, the likelihood of infection;
  2. To cause the least disruption possible to service delivery to our clients;
  3. To take action to support slowing community spread of the virus.

Arrangements GP down south has in place:
Many of our staff have transitioned to working from home today with the following programs and services offering telehealth delivery models:
  • South West Primary Mental Health Program
  • South West Chronic Disease Care and Diabetes Education Services
  • Some Aboriginal Health Programs in both Peel and the South West
  • The Assertive Outreach Team in Peel

The following services will be operating  face to face delivery with all existing QMS policies and work instructions related to Covid-19 applicable. Reception staff will continue to use the screening questions for all clients and ensure clients are wearing a mask if they enter the premises:

  • Peel Youth Medical Service (PYMS)
  • Clinical Care Coordinators at the Peel Health Hub
  • Nidjalla Waangan Mia (NWM) Clinic Services
  • Down South Aboriginal Health (DSAH)  – GP clinics

Please note:
There will be no outreach, no transports and no home visits for at least the next 5 days.

As of Friday 5th February it will be mandatory to have contact tracing registers in place. Each location has today been issued a QR code and a paper based register for those that do not have the SafeWA app. From today all staff and visitors will be required to register each time they arrive at the location.

Please keep checking our Facebook pages for updates.  You can find links to these pages on each program page on this website.
