On Wednesday 26 June, 165 medical, nursing and allied health professionals came together to launch a new health initiative for the South West region. Health professionals across the South West will be better supported and have greater opportunities to network and upskill with the launch of the new South West Health Professionals Network (SWHPN).
The SWHPN will feature a portal through which regional health professionals can access local education and training, chat with other health professionals, share research findings and opportunities, and engage in clinical discussions. This was showcased to guests on the evening of the launch with the opportunity to sign up as members. Many guests were early adopters signing up for membership during the event. The portal will be supported with regular face to face networking opportunities.
The South West Health Professionals Network has been developed by a collective of like-minded health agencies, including GP down south, Rural Health West, South West Aboriginal Medical Service, WA Country Health Service, WA General Practice Education and Training, WA Primary Health Alliance, and The Rural Clinical School of WA.
GP down south is an exemplary not-for-profit community organisation. We have been providing health and wellbeing services in the Peel regions and the South West of WA since 1994.
