JSW Training & Community Services students proudly present the “Care Chair”. It is located in the Peel Health Hub and is a project that demonstrates community and resillience.
The Certificate II in Leadership “Thrive” program, focusses on self development, building self esteem, self confidence and developing communication skills.
As part of the program, students are involved in planning and implementing a community project. Due to COVID-19 interrupting the semester, creating a group community project was difficult. As part of the project the “Thrive” team created the “Care Chair”.
The students wanted to reach out to other youth within the community that access the Peel Health Hub. The bright and colourful chair deservedly demands attention and has encouraging, positive quotes and affirmations from each of the students written on it with the hope that it offers some kind of support or optimism to fellow peers who may be struggling with any number of issues.
There is also a book, pens & pencils attached for anyone to share their creativity, drawings or inspiring messages for the next person to read. Take a load off, soak up some positive vibes and relax in the Care Chair.
GP down south is an exemplary not-for-profit community organisation. We have been providing health and wellbeing services in the Peel regions and the South West of WA since 1994.
